Oscars Red Carpet Hits and Misses

The Academy Awards, as the most prestigious event of the year, gathers in one place the most amazing and the most glamorous gowns a woman could dream of. Besides the significance of awarding great movie work, fashion on the Oscars red carpet is something we are impatiently waiting for through the whole year.

Red carpet fashion on the Oscars kept its glamour throughout the years and 2013 was not an exception. Hollywood movie stars looked stunning and showed once again that modern and classic can be combined and result in nothing more, but amazing appearance.

We saw a lot of red lipstick, sparkles, massive haute couture gowns, diamonds and plenty of smiling faces. However, when it comes to fashion, every event has its own ‘best and worst dressed’ guests. Celebrities are fashion critics’ favorite target, so let’s see what they had to say about this year’s Oscar red carpet hits and misses.

My personal favorite team of fashion critics is E! Fashion Police – not only they know fashion, but they also know how to bring fashion to the ordinary reader/viewer. I just love their hilarious way of telling celebs they look bad. They respect uniqueness and that’s why I always listen to what they have to say about latest fashion.

The Fashion Police named a couple of celebrities that ‘rocked’ the red carpet and that list includes South African actress Charlize Theron in stunning white Dior gown, the award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence also in Dior haute couture gown, British singer Adele in a gorgeous black Jenny Packham dress, American actress Kerry Washington in an unforgettable coral Miu Miu dress, actress Naomi Watts in a futuristic-looking gown by Armani, actress Jessica Chastain in a perfectly sparkling Armani dress, American actress and singer Amy Adams in a dreamy dress by genius Oscar De La Renta.

I won’t say anything else, you can see it for yourself:

As I was saying, the Fashion Police didn’t skip to mention the fashion misses we saw on this year’s Oscars – Helena Bonham Carter with her weird taste for fashion, Brandi Glanville with her plunging neckline, Zoe Saldana’s ‘too-much’ dress and Anne Hathaway’s Prada dress, which got the ‘worst’ epithet by many fashion critics.

  1. Thanks for this. I really can’t sit through the broadcast, and I don’t like clicking through web slideshows either. But I do like to get a quick glimpse of the red carpet fashions, so this page is just right.
